First, tickets go on sale at noon today, April 1st, for the 2011 Manhattan Cocktail Classic, which will held Friday, May 13th - Tuesday, May 17th. For those unfamiliar, the event's web site summarizes the event as:
Part festival, part fête, part conference, part cocktail party – the Manhattan Cocktail Classic is an annual celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture. With over one hundred events spread across five days and five boroughs, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic offers a vast array of unique experiences to enthusiasts and professionals alike, expanding the very definition of what constitutes a “cocktail event".I for one am hoping to attend some of the fantastic sounding events. Next up, for the Boston crowd, there are two events of note in the coming weeks. This Sunday, April 3rd, marks the beginning of a new series of Cocktail Wars at Woodward at Ames. Cocktail Wars is an Iron Chef style face-off between Boston area bartenders featuring 2 secret ingredients per round. This year, the weekly event will features 32 bartenders facing off in 7 weeks of competition running this Sunday through May 15th. Click here for more info on the event.
Then, on Sunday, April 10th, Russel House Tavern in Cambridge will be host the Waitiki Festival of Music & Cocktails. This event will feature tiki cocktail specials and live music from the fantastic exotica band Waitiki, as well as the DJ sounds of Jack Fetterman, Gina of the Jungle, and Brother Cleve.
